Summer is always an exciting time of year for us at Project Partner. It’s our busiest time with trips, so we get to spend more time in the field than anytime during the rest of the year.
It’s especially exciting for those who participate in the annual Soccer Camp and English Teaching (ESL) trips. Most people serving on these trips have fundraised and prepared for months. Finally, they get to reap the rewards of their hard work. Lauren was one of those trip participants this year.
“In the past I’ve wanted to travel the world and I’ve had several opportunities, but yet nothing worked out. Last summer, my mother Shaina, went on the Project Partner ESL trip. It was incredible to see how her heart was impacted through the people she served.
“After a lot of praying and thinking, I made the courageous decision to join the ESL team this year.
“I began raising funds and at first was very discouraged. Progress was slow. But my mom continued to encourage me. I was blessed with a peace that everything would come together; I just didn’t know how.
“With our departure less than a month away, I lacked $1,000 for trip fee. I continued to pray and stay committed. When I became overwhelmed, I leaned on Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’
“In less than a week, several individuals to provide the remaining balance!
“I am so thankful to participate in this trip with our team!”
Thank you so much to those who support trip particpants like Lauren. Your gifts help not only change the lives of those fighting poverty, but they change the lives of those serving.
