This past weekend Project Partner's Co-Founder, Rev. Donna Thomas, received an Honoary Doctor of Divinity degree from Mid-America Christian University (MACU) in Oklahoma City, OK.
The university honored Thomas for her work as a minister, author, and missionary. "Thomas is the co-founder and past president of Project Partner With Christ, a missions agency that worked trans-denominationally in more than 34 countries, [now focused on China]. The positive evangelistic and discipleship impact of this agency is too far-reaching to calculate. During her more than 30 years in active work with the agency, she held pastoral training programs in India, China, Egypt, Haiti, Romania, Russia, the Philippines, Peru, Argentina, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and Nicaragua. The ministry at one time turned a 47-foot yacht into a medical-evangelism boat that docked at ports in Central America to provide free medical services to those in need. During her 30 years with Project Partner, she led more than 6,000 people in teams to countries around the world to construct churches, clinics, and schools; to provide practical disaster relief; and to offer Christian ministry training to nationals. Project Partner transported ministry teams at first by their ministry bus and later by air using the ministry's 40-passenger airplane. Thomas herself is a licensed pilot." Thomas' accomplishment go on as an author, minster and public speaker on television and radio. Read MACU's full article on Thomas.
Personally, Thomas has been and continues to be an incredible role model and precious mentor. She continues to serve Project Partner as a representative and advisor. Thomas constantly encourages me to follow as God leads, trusting Him to continue to provide as He has for her over the years. I'm inspiried and still in awe as I listen to her stories of God's provision and wonders. It goes to show that God can truly accomplish the impossile if you'll fully trust and obey Him.
Thank you Donna for living in a way that inspires, encourages, and motivates all of us. What a pleasure and priviledge it is to serve the Lord with you!
